Meet Your Hosts
We're Arun and Upasna, a couple of New Yorkers with Indian heritage now living in Los Angeles, and passionate believers that the best way to understand a culture is through its food.
For more than 20 years, we've been eating our way around the world, following flavors, family recipes, and unforgettable meals wherever they lead. Whenever we choose out next destination, Upasna always asks,
"But how's the food?"
That question says everything about how we travel — and how we designed Roam and Savor.
We don’t just take you to India.
We introduce you to the India we carry with us.
We get it. India is incredible — home to almost 1.5 billion people. It's also vibrant, chaotic, deeply layered, and not always easy to navigate without the right guidance. With 22 official languages, countless regional traditions, and one of the most diverse food cultures on earth, it can feel overwhelming from the outside.
That’s where we come in. As Americans who are deeply proud of our Indian heritage, we offer something rare: the ability to translate childhood culture into an experience that feels personal, accessible, and authentic. We show you the India we love — the one shaped by family kitchens, street-side snacks, long conversations over chai, and meals that carry memory and meaning.
The idea for Roam and Savor had been brewing since 2019, born from a simple belief: India deserves to be experienced, not just visited. When the world shut down in 2020 we had to wait — but the vision never faded.
And we don't just design this journey — we live them with you. From arrival to farewell, we travel alongside you. We stay at the same hotels, share the same meals, and experience every moment together. No hand-offs, no disappearing acts — just genuine guidance, real connection, and a trip that feels personal from beginning to end.
Because our groups are small and intimate, with no more than 12 travelers, every guest gets the care, attention, and connection they deserve.
And yes — we take food seriously.
Any fears you have about Indian spices will be put to rest. You’ll come home with a deeper understanding of Indian cuisine, learn to make favorite dishes that go far beyond butter chicken, brew the perfect cup of masala chai, and discover that turmeric lattes were being enjoyed in our household long before they appeared on cafe menus — much to Upasna’s mother’s horror at what they cost today.
Maybe we'll even help you decode the infamous Indian head wobble.
Come hungry. Leave inspired.
